7th Grade Religion Syllabus

7th Grade Religion covers the New Testament and encourages each student to strengthen his or her relationship with Christ. Assignments in Religion, unlike other classes, are all weighted the same.  Each student will be expected to keep a prayer journal. The journal will be graded weekly on effort, not content, and will be kept strictly confidential. The purpose of the prayer journal is to allow the students to form a daily relationship with Jesus.  Students will participate in lectures, student teaching, and prayer experiences with the hope that their relationship with God will be further strengthened as they enter their Confirmation year next year.

There are several prayers and listings that the Diocese feels that each student should know by the end of this year.  The due dates for all of prayers and listings are listed below along with the topics that are to be covered.  The following is an outline for the 2008-2009 school year.*
